It’s been many sad years without The Office on television, and some fans are still wishing for more episodes. Rumors of a possible Office reboot have been circulating for a while, but it looks like that isn’t going to be happening. However, Steve Carell is returning to comedy TV, via Netflix’s upcoming show Space Force. The show will be produced by Carell and Greg Daniels, the producer of The Office.

While we aren’t getting that reboot, it will be great to see how this character differs from that of Michael Scott. So while Donald Trump and the White House work to create the real-life “Space Force”, Carell will be beating him to the punch with this new comedy series. To be honest, we are only looking forward to the television show, not that Trump will really ever create an actual Space Force — God, we really hope not.

Carell set to make a lot of money Space Force

Steve Carell is set to make a huge amount of money for this new series. According to CNBC, he’s expected to earn around $1 million dollars per episode, which is definitely more than Michael Scott ever made in all his years working as manager of Dunder-Mifflin Scranton.

Netflix has put out a teaser for the series. The premise appears to be about the people who have to create Trump’s fictional Space Force.  We are sure it’s going to be funny as well as packed full of political commentary. At this point, the government might well just use these future episodes to figure out what this new branch of the military should be doing.

Would an Office reboot be a good idea anyway?

Netflix is definitely smart to be taking on this series. The Office. While not confirmed, some surveys have indicated it is the most streamed show on the platform. It’s definitely the type of show that you can rewatch, and, if you are a fan, it’s strangely comforting to go back to the world of Dunder-Mifflin, for both the jokes and the heartfelt moments. The Office is still a popular subject of memes and pop culture jokes, and it will always hold a special place in the hearts of many.

To be honest, we are looking forward to this show, even to just see Steve Carell on comedic television again. An Office reboot sounds great in theory, but often reboots aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. It’s probably best to keep The Office in the past. For now, we have Space Force to look forward to. If the working relationship between Carell and Netflix goes well, then who knows what the future might hold.
